Comanche Story

Hello, my name is Gapal and my tribe name is Comanche. I live in the western plains. I’m going to introduce you to my family. My dad’s name is Abdullah, my mom’s name Keshira, and, last, but not least, my brother’s name is Dayada. He’s the best brother you can ever imagine.

To begin with, I live in a teepee. A teepee is a cone-shaped tent that is made out of buffalo skin. The Comanche tribe’s main food is buffalo. The Comanche tribe eats the buffalo and uses every piece of the buffalo for many reasons. The Comanche uses up all of the buffalo for special occasions. They use the skin to make clothes or teepees and they use the bones to make eating utensils. The Comanche also eat small rabbits and fish, nuts, berries, and wild potatoes that we grow.

My tribe used to live in the Rocky Mountains, but we decided we didn’t have enough room to roam the land because of other tribes in the area, so we moved to the plains and took over the Apache tribe and killed them. We took over in the 1800s. Sadly, we didn’t mind killing them because we really needed the land.

Lastly, Our tradition at Smithsonian is telling people what kind of tools we use to hunt buffalo. Also we show them our cloths and lastly we tell them about our life. Furthermore we go back home and eat our spicy buffalo and hang out with my brother Dayada.

The End
